Chick Charters is owned and operated by me, Captain Sandra Coats. I grew up in Craig Alaska, a small fishing village on the outside of Prince of Wales Island. As a very young child, I regularly went out with my Dad on a commercial fishing boat trolling for salmon and long lining for halibut. This is when I fell in love with the ocean and fishing. These early experiences led me into commercial fisheries and a career in charter fishing.

My passion is sharing my love for the ocean, fishing, and Alaska with families and children. I have a fun, enthusiastic personality, and love telling stories and sharing information. I go out of my way to make my charter guests feel like family, and use my extensive fishing knowledge and skills to ensure the best fishing possible. I am also an ordained Christian minister. So if you're looking for a unique marriage or vow renewal ceremony on the water, I can help out with that too!

My boat, Scarlett Grace, is an immaculately clean 38-foot Californian sport fishing vessel named after my daughter. I can comfortably accommodate six people. I purchased the boat on the east coast and trucked it across the country to Bellingham, WA. From there, I put it in the water and drove it up the Inside Passage to Ketchikan, AK to kick off my adventures in charter fishing.

I offer half and full day salmon fishing, as well as half day sightseeing trips. Charters are very family-friendly and tailored for all experience levels. I also cater to passengers arriving in Ketchikan on cruise ships.
